The future of electrical engineering: In this section, we regularly report on new developments. We highlight technologies and selected projects with our customers and partners that either define new standards or set new benchmarks.

Together with the Umbra Group, we compared permanent magnet synchronous motors for hybrid light aircraft propulsion with traditional and additive winding technologies in a development project.
Electric motors at their physical maximum: no derating at maximum power thanks to phase-change cooling.
Partial discharges damage the insulation in electric motors and reduce the service life. Modern technology enables higher copper fill levels and reduced partial discharge for the highest demands.
Whether in torque motors or in the trend technology axial flux motor: concentrated windings are used in a wide range of applications. Flat conductor coils enable higher copper fill levels and efficiencies than classic round wire windings.
