EU-funded project: eFeCo – Additively Manufactured FeCo Electrical Steel Sheets

Through the eFeCo research project, Additive|Drives is advancing the packaging and qualification of additively manufactured FeCo electrical steel sheets for high-performance electric machines.

New Materials and Manufacturing Approaches for More Efficient Electric Motors

In the eFeCo research project, Additive Drives and Fraunhofer IFAM are jointly developing an innovative powder metallurgy manufacturing process for iron-cobalt electrical steel sheets based on additive screen printing. The goal is to develop an advanced manufacturing process for FeCo laminated cores and then to integrate and validate the resulting components in a high-performance motor.

Within the project, Additive Drives is focusing on the packaging of additively manufactured FeCo electrical steel sheets and on their qualification for the intended application. By combining the expertise of Additive Drives and Fraunhofer IFAM, the technologies used are to be further developed and qualified for use in high-performance electric machines.

The project is funded by the European Union and is being supported by the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) as part of the funding program.
