EU-funded project: SmartCargoDrone – Development of an autonomous cargo drone

Additive Drives is developing a high-performance electric drive system for the SmartCargoDrone research project, designed for the autonomous transport of cargo by drone.

High-Performance Propulsion System for the Next Generation of Autonomous Air Logistics

The SmartCargoDrone research project is developing an autonomous multicopter cargo drone. The goal of the project is to expand the functionality and efficiency of today’s drone systems and enable the drone to navigate to geographic destinations independently while taking its surroundings into account.

To this end, the entire system will be equipped with innovative mission control, integrated energy management, and specially developed propulsion systems. Additive Drives is responsible for developing a high-performance drone motor as part of the project.

The project is funded by the European Union and co-financed by tax revenues based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
