Customer Focus
In a collaborative research project with Ford Motor Company, we have optimised a hairpin stator to achieve higher efficiency and better packaging than ever before. By combining constant cross section, variable profile hairpin conductors and our optimised manufacturing technologies, we have improved the performance of the electric motor!
Hairpins are the trend technology in the field of electric motors. Additive Drives offers the world’s fastest prototypes and supports its customers in the area of high-performance series. Compared to round wire windings, which are still standard in the industrial sector, the hairpin winding impresses with three advantages: firstly, the solid copper cross-section reduces the electrical resistance. Secondly, the improved thermal behaviour of the winding allows higher continuous power. Thirdly, the hairpin winding is produced on fully automated lines and is thus exactly reproducible, regardless of the number of pieces.
